Why do so many people hate on Garth Brooks?

I would really like to know cause I still like him and I asked a question about him and the answers were all negative
So can I find out why every one is so down on Garth Brooks

I agree with the others who say Garth is all about Garth.He comes across as Mr.Nice guy,as long as he's being paid for it.He loves the camera and attention more than Paris Hilton does.

I once saw an interview with Garth Brooks and he stated that he always checks out whatever venue he’s performing at and sits in the worst possible seat to make sure that whoever gets that seat still has a great view of his concert. And if it doesn’t then he won’t allow the venue to sell that seat. I thought wow, that’s pretty cool. Until I saw him in concert in the late 90’s in San Antonio, TX. It was a revolving stage and every time the stage turned where we would get to see him he would walk to the other side so his back was ALWAYS to us. And that is why I HATE GARTH BROOKS!!!

To answer your question, Garth Brooks is all about Garth Brooks. He doesn't have the rapport with his fans that say, George Strait does. Fans can pick up on that real fast and he bowed out once and now too many don't give a shake whether he comes back or stays gone. Good Question btw

Garth changed after the massive popularity of "No Fences." Gone were good country songs and in its place were more rock-based songs (remember he contributed a song to the Kiss tribute album -- to quote "The Blues Brothers," that don't sound like no Hank Williams!).



There was also the monetary arrogance he showed with the "used CD" comments. If you'll remember, it was Brooks who said that he should get MORE money when a CD was resold. He made a comment that he'd made "more money than my grandchildren can spend." Eddy Arnold was stinking rich for his day, but he NEVER rubbed that fact in his fans' faces that way.



I'd like to see the 1989 Garth come back, not the post-"Friends in Low Places" narcissist.

Garth likes the limelight i agree. All professional singers do thats why they become professional . They like an audience like to perform to and generally are very good at doing it. He was fined by the governing body over his concerts in Ireland in the 90's for playing for a extra hour or two most nights on top of the allowed time. He obviously did this in everyone's opinion because he gets paid anymore because we all know he doesn't but because he loves the fans , singing and the irish connection his has from his mother who died of cancer later and had lived in Ireland.

I would be regarded as a hardcore country music fan, Strait, Highwaymen Haggard etc and very simply put, these were his influences aswell but like us all he liked singers from more than one genre and he envisaged making music that had the lyrical styles of country music with elements of rock and concerts that resembled spectacular shows moreso than country singers were accustomed to. This had never been done before and he presented country music to a wider audiences and hardcore country types called his authenticity into question so there's one reason for ya but he has become the highest selling solo albums artists of all time in the states and his highest selling album with 17 million copies sold the US alone. He retired because his girls were being raised by the nanny and he claimed was a eye-opener to spend more time with them. He spent 4 years playing a sentimetal family style show in Vegas twice a night which shows his love for musical influences and his family. He loves his daughters more than anything has enough money at this stage to stay retired. He wants to do get back out to see the fans and recreate amazing life changing record breaking concerts.

I agree with the whole garth is doing it for the lime light. He played at one of our county fairs in the 90's and said it was the worst place he'd ever played because there wasnt a huge crowd! I love all his old stuff but his new stuff sucks!!!

The same reason so many hate on Brett Favre. He can't make up his mind whether to stay retired or keep making music. In Brooks case, the guy has made his millions, he should just go fishing and leave country music to the hard core troubadours.
