Lately I've been having a really rough time of it and I am a huge music lover. However, when I used to listen to music when I was upset it would make more upset. Since discovering Hank about a year ago I've fallen in love with it. Now that I'm having a hard time I find that even his most depressing songs uplift me. I was wondering if anyone else felt the same way

I'd say he's made alot of people feel better because there's just about a Hank song for everything you could possibly going through, and hearing him sing about it makes you feel like you're not alone. Sometimes I feel like I'll never get out of this world alive, sometimes I'm so lonesome I could cry, and some days I feel like I saw the light and Hanks always right beside me through it all, lol. It's funny how comforting he is almost 60 years later. He certainly had the gift, and I'm sure there's millions of people (none less than me) eternally grateful for that

i've loved country music since i was 5, it's all i will listen to. it's real, it has meaning, it involves real talent and its way better than anything else. i love the old stuff too. whenever me and my brother drove to school last year, we always listened to hank williams, johnny cash, george jones, conway twitty, jimmie rodgers and charlie daniels. no one can ever replace those amazing artists and i agree that it is a shame real country is disappearing. i cant even believe people actually classify taylor swift as country. she's 100% pop. even though it is disappearing though, there is still some modern country that is still somewhat country. ... i really love george strait. (i know, he's 80's until now, but he's still really good) bluegrass is also really good. like ocms

When Im having a rough time I listen to songs I can relate to.Believe me it is an outlet for some. Ive listened to Hank Williams Sr.songs A lot and they definitely helped me get through some hard times.I swear certain kinds of music, like his works as therapy for me! I honestly don't know if I would be here today if it wasn't for for music like his, among other real country singers.I have to have music like that in my life to help get through bad times. It lifts your spirits and the sad songs let you know you're not alone, that someone else has been through similar situations. When it's hard to find anyone to talk to, music can be your best friend.I know it helps me and, many others feel better. That's what real country music is Truly about.! You're not just hearing the heart and soul in it, but you're actually feeling and connecting with it.

Hank Sr is my favorite singer ever, period. His music makes me feel many things. When I'm feeling blue, I can listen to a song like "jambalaya on the bayou" or "howlin at the moon" and immediately feel upbeat. Or if I want to feel bad about myself and cry a river, I can listen to "i'm so lonesome i could cry" or "(i heard that) lonesome whistle". No matter what mood I want to feel, there is a Hank song for the occasion.
