In multiple country songs they talk about the girl being a preacher's daughter?
Do they mean it literally like the preacher is her dad or what do they mean?
God Love Her - Toby Keith; "She's a rebel child and a preacher's daughter."
Angel Eyes - Love and Theft; "She ain't your typical preacher's daughter. She'll leave you dreaming"

I always assumed it literally meant a preacher's daughter. You know being a preacher's daughter, you're raised a certain way. A lot of times they're taught in a strict manner and are labeled as being quiet and shy and a good girl. So when songs say things like "She ain't your typical preacher's daughter," the song is probably gonna be about a girl with a bit of a wild side. That's what Angel Eyes and God Love Her is about. God bless! :)

how a lot of you who sooo without delay bash Joel have EVER stepped foot into Lakewood? I for one attend Lakewood and recognize what Joel preaches and how a lot of an earnings he does no longer take from the church! until eventually you've been there you may want to elect to get your information instantly before you commence your bashing. Kudos to the responder that reported that Joel hasn't ever requested for money on air as that's the reality besides because the actual undeniable reality that he does no longer take an earnings from the church! And please basically keep in mind that no man or woman is optimal!!

Typically a preachers daughter or son looks like a goody-2-shoes, until you get to know them. Most of the time they act good around adult figures to maintain their image with them and then go and rebel against them without their knowing.

I'm not sure if the term is ment litterally or not, but it could also mean "good girl" like she never does anything wrong, inexperianced... But in the Toby Keith video the term is taken literally since her father is portrayed as a priest/pastor. But most of the time, I do believe it is literally most of the time.
