Yes and yes, the song is by Tim Mcgraw and the girl does die at the end. At the end of the song where it's the girl, the boy, and the dad, it's just repeating the begining lines.

my brother and i used to have an argument about that whenever we saw the video when it first came out. after looking at it as an adult, I finally had to concede that he was right, and that is the girl from the beginning of the song that shows up at the end. my argument was that the hair color was wrong, cuz during most of the video the girl is blond, but the woman at the end has dark hair. and, you never see a young girl at the end of the video. looks like the baby became a 'Junior'. side note, does anyone think it was interesting that the 3 famous people he listed all had last names that ended with -Son? Jimmie Johnson, Tommy Thompson, and the best friend Bo Jackson.

Ok--lets look at the video...you see "Johnny" praying in the hospital and the same guy is in the last scene taking his son fishing...this is not the father and son from the first verse. Then just as the music starts to fade, you see the mother come out with a picinic basket. She does not die...

Also, to the guy wondering about the last names, Bo is not given a last name,,,it just says "my best friend Bo". Jackson is not mentioned.

Personally, I believe its up to the listener....in the video it does show her following the guy and son so in the video I believe she lives....if you listent to just the sond and exclude the video then maybe she does.....I feel the writer intended it to be this way......if you are a positive person yes she lives....if you arent then no she doesnt! Such as do you see the glass 1/2 empty or 1/2 full......its all up for your own interpretation!

Yes, but the baby lives. You hit a chord with me on this one. My eight year old grandaughter has had many sad things to deal with, and I have custody of her at this time. She loved that song so much that my grandson recorded it on a CD so that it just plays over and over, back to back. She sings along in her sweet little voice, and it breaks my heart. Lost unto this World, by Emmylou Harris is the other song she sings, pull it up and imagine a little one being drawn to such a painful song. It is on "Stumble into Grace."

In the video, she doesn't.

In the song, Tim doesn't say one way or the other.

"Doctor says the baby's fine but you'll have to leave

'Cause his momma's fading fast and Johnny hit his knees and there he prayed

Take the very breath you gave me

Take the heart from my chest

I'll gladly take her place if you'll let me

Make this my last request

Take me out of this world

God, please don't take the girl"

the last part you see is the first verse "johnny's daddy was taking him fishing, when he was 8 years old" the mother did die the end part was the very begining of the song where they actually went fishing.

I don't think so. Johnny sacrificed for her. "Take my wallet, take my credit cards, here's the watch my grandpa gave me, here's the key to my car". Johnny's mother might pass away, but that's not the same girl as in the fishing verse or the gunman verse.

if you watch the video the last scene is the guy taking his son fishing and his wife is there walking behind them....i really don't think that she dies at the end, but it can be precieved either way I guess. i hope that this helped.

Take me out of this world,

God please-don’t take the girl."

for some reason, i dont think she does. dn the song doesnt say it, and the music video doesnt show it. i guess it depends on who is listening to it. one person could think she died, another says she and her baby lived. it just depends.

I don't think so. In the rest of the song whenever he prays "don't take the girl" He doesn't. So I don't think He did that time either.
