Most of the songs today that are listed as "Country" is not country to me at all. It's pop.

Find a classic country radio station to hear some real country.

With the likes of Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, David Allen Coe, Buck Owens, Willie Nelson, Barbara Mandrell, Johnny Cash, George Jones.

The List goes on & on.

I have many favorites but the Perfect country & western song was done by David Allen Coe, You Dont Have to call Me Darlin'

there is just too many to pick one, but i will anyway. Lonsome, on'ry & mean by Waylon Jennings. The song was written by Steve Young I believe. Hell, I hate to just pick one, cuz Waylon alone has done so many great songs, and anyone who isn't familiar with all his great records, should get the box set that was put out not too long ago. It's called Nashville Rebel, and ther are 4 discs plus lots of great pictures of Waylon, and some words written by his son Shooter Jennings, who is pretty damn awesome in his own right.

Wow that's a hard one. If I have to pick one I think it would be Tracy Lawrence's Texas Tornado. If I get to choose others I have to say almost anything by Tracy & Alabama, Blue Clear Sky - George Strait, Watch This- Clay Walker, Don't Take the Girl - Tim Mcgraw. And way too many to mention.

i really like this new country band from detroit called Blanche.....

they are new, but have a classic country feel. "so long cruel world" is probably my favorite of their music.

also, bonnie "prince" billy is really good. he's new too. his album "sings greatest palace music" is very country but his other stuff is more folk country. johnny cash covered his song "i see a darkness" on american III. that's probably his greatest song.
