Which do you thank has been better at carrying on the legend of Sr.: Hank Jr. or Hank 3? Yes, I know neither is in ol' Hank's league. Still, I sometimes wonder, if he were alive today, whose music he would appreciate more. Hank 3 certainly sounds more like him IMO. Ok, then, what's your opinion? BQ: Any lesser-known - beyond the obvious hits - Hank Sr. song(s) you especially like?

......3 generations and 3 very different stylings. There is only 1 hank williams and nobody can fill his shoes.

I've listened to all 3 and each ( Junior and III) have a few of Hanks qurks down ,neither have his way with a crowd. But to choose between the 2(Jr and III) I have to go with Junior. He bucked the system when he started out much the same as Hank(Sr) did.Sure he does not sound like his daddy nor is his music the same, but he has a way with his audiance that Sr had.

So as of now I have to go with Hank Jr as carrying on the legacy of Hank Williams.

Hank III is my favorite...his first album Broke, Lovesick, and Driftin' was fcking epic! And for the guy who says he has a filthy mouth...he only says hell a couple times in the whole album...sure his later albums have a lot of cursing but that's who Hank III is a goddamn rebel through and through. And I'm sure old Hank would be damn proud to have a grandson that sounds and looks so simialar to him and can sing all his songs just like he did back in the day. If you haven't seen it look it up on youtube hank williams III at the grand ole opry. I loved it. I still like Hank jrs music but the legend of Hank definatly skipped a generation.

I like Singing Waterfall and Someday You'll Call My Name ... I think Merle Haggard and some others have been better at carrying on the legend of Hank Sr , than either Jr or 3 . Junior did start doing some of his dad's stuff early on . I never listen to 3 , because of his filthy mouth , I doubt Sr would approve of his language .

I think Hank Williams would appreciate his son's music. Jr openly admits he isn't his father, he is himself. The reason he is so far from his father most of the time is because he started having to be his father. When he was finally able to be himself he didn't want to be anything like his father, and so we got his music. I'm not really going to comment on Hank III as I never really listened to him and don't know enough of him to.

I think Hank Jr. because of the longer career.

BQ: try Hank Jr.'s "Eleven Roses"...
