Like Hank Sr., who else has gotten kicked out of the Opry for drinking, drugs, whatever???

A note-- I will not be here for a while, after sometime next week. Times are gettin' too hard, no cable/internet. I wanted to say-- I have had fun in yahoo, even with the violations.

Ya'll have a wonderful holiday. and bless you all..
Maybe, there will be a classic country section by the time I get back.

Hank Sr is the reason we learned about other greats and his influence has been felt for years. In that day and time I guess they thought his drinking was such a problem that they didn't need him. If that's the case then they need to take away the door greeter who is a Hank imposter that works at the Grand Ole Opry. They use that image yet still ignore the best about Hank and his legacy. I had read somewhere that the opry asked the group "The Four Guys" to not return to the Opry as well. There may have been others but since the Opry ain't country as I feel it should be I don't read much news about it and choose to basically ignore the Opry until such time as some of the wrongs they have done are corrected.

Great question by the way.

I really hate to see you take off and have enjoyed your time here on Y/A and hope that all works out for you and that you are back real soon.

Hank Sr. was a lot more than the Opry. Hank was a diety. Without Hank...I doubt that there ever would have been an Elvis or Rock & Roll ? Nobody could ever sing & write like Hank. He only lived something like 29 years, but I can't think of any other person in any genre of music that accomplished more than Hank ? Hank spent his entire life " Settin the Woods on Fire " and he never looked back. I LIKE Hank Williams, Sr----Oh.....And also...Elvis was kicked off the Opry too & was told he had no talent and should return to his day job which was driving a truck for Crown Electric Company. Good Thing Elvis did not listen to the Opry either.....

I,m not sure if anyone else has messed up as bad as Hank did to get kicked out of the Opry. I think he was the only one.

As for you leaving...We sure are going to miss you. Y/A country is kinda like a family, we all have gotten to know each others taste in country music and hate to see a family member leave. I hope that things work out for you and that you will be able to get back on line with us as soon as possible. Take care and God Bless, sure been nice sharing points with you:)

Johnny Cash was banned from the opry for a time for kicking out footlights while he was high.
