Yep, Taylor Swift was on the CMA's tonight. I don't know why? She is a POP singer, not country. I love Jamey Johnson and Jason Aldean, hopefully they won't fall into that fake glamour crap. Idk what's happening to country but I still listen to the greats and ignore the fakes!

The CMA Awards are not country anymore! The CMA Awards now are a laughing stock to the real country music artists.I believe it is time for all real country music artists and fans to start our own award show, and make sure it stays country..............Hank

I'd say that happened either at the time or before Billy Ray Cyrus brutally murdered the classic country sound with "Achy Breaky Heart." I mean, seriously--there are some great artists in modern country, but that song was pure pop! Down with BRC!!

The CMA awards was so disappointing - the only acts that I enjoyed were

Billy Currington, Tim McGraw and George Strait - the rest wasn't country - what are they doing to our music.

Why do they allow it. Money talks.

I agree for the most part with exception to Jason Aldean. At least you're not acting like the only thing wrong with mainstream Country music is Taylor Swift which is what several do on here. I think I seen 3 acts tonight on the awards show sing songs that reminded me of country music..George Strait,Zac Brown and Jamey Johnson. You could of wrapped up the country music part in 10 minutes.

Hey two bird, I agree with you but, for different reasons. I just sat with my wife as she watched the CMA Awards show tonight.

I've never been a real fan of Country Music but, yes, it seems to have evolved commercially, overlapping with Rock sensationalism and taking many fans with them (especially younger fans). I believe Country should be "Country", Rock should be "Rock", Rap should be "Rap" and Polkas should be "Polkas", etc. When the lines are crossed, for $$$ purposes, I believe the "flavor" and heritage of all of these art forms are blurred, if not lost.

Music has always "evolved". Consider Jazz to Be-Bop, Rock and Roll, Hard Rock, etc. It's just sad to see one flavor pass on. Keep your old records, cd's, etc. They'll be worth something someday.

Thanks for bringing it up. I thought I was the only one that thought "Country" had been diluted and passed to the side of the road. Actually, I didn't hear that much "Country" music on the show tonight!!!

As much as I am not a fan of Country, I still hate to see an American "Tradition" being pushed aside for the almighty dollar. I don't know what the answer is but I hope someone $$$ realizes there is still a viable market and advertises it as such. Probably won't happen. GREAT question tho. Good Luck.

Yup, it was a slow death. I honestly feel like I lost a member of my family. The only moment since my Pap has been gone that I was glad he wasn't here to see that little twit stick the nail in Country's coffin=( That would've killed him=(

God Bless George & Alan

Music changes. Always has, always will. Not just country, all genres. Some people aren't going to like it. It happens.
