Alejandro Escoveto, John Prine, and Steve Earle. I drop their names in R and P and get no response. I have not seen them over hear, but I don't live hear like Taylor Swift.
Q2. Do you think their is some major holes in the music categories at YA?

John Prine Rules, but not so much since his throat cancer.
Steve Earle's great
I don't know Escoveto
What about Steve Goodman?
Edit. John was operated on in 1998 for throat cancer in 1998. It changed both his jaw line & voice. He has reportedly been ok ever since.

I'm not that familiar with Alejandro, but I do have all of John Prine and Steve Earle's music. I will agree, there are a lot of groups or artist that don't get mention here enough.
Q2.Yes I do,

I love John Prine, my favorite song by him is "Paradise" and "Your Flag Decals Won't Get You Into Heaven Anymore"
Steve Earle had a talk show on Sirius Satellite radio a while back, I'm not sure if he still does or not.
I'm not familiar with Alejandro Escoveto though.

I've asked questions about John Prine before here in the country section and I have got a few responses. One of my favorite songwriters..Steve Earl I don't really care for mainly because of his radical political views.I never heard of the first one but I will check him out!
And yes some major holes indeed. There needs to be a folk music section and the rock and country sections needs to have a classic rock section and a modern rock section, same with the country section.

yes, major holes. But it depends on who's in here when you ask. Right now you've got mostly younguns hangin around...they most likely won't have a clue about these artists.
Personally, I love Escovedo. I bought his newest album yesterday, good as always.
John Prine's a classic staple in our house & Steve Earle's the man :)
How 'bout Jeff Buckley, Elliott Smith, Ray LaMontagne, The Decemberists don't even get much attn in here...
