What 16 Classic Country artists you would book for this 1 week long extravaganza. I would like a list with 8 living and 8 deceased. Please only list Classic Country Music artists. Please state why you selected those 16 artists. Here's my list.
Deceased Artists:

Hank Williams--he was pure raw Country
Lefty Frizzell--he was one of the greatest
Tommy Collins (for obvious reasons)
Waylon Jennings--I want to say goodbye to him
Ernest Tubb-he was so nice and friendly
Patsy Cline--the greatest female classic country singer
Jim Reeves--I just want to hear that velvet voice
Marty Robbins--to see him entertain again

Living Artists:
Merle Haggard--I can't get enough of The Hag
George Jones-- I'm ready for some good soulful singing
Bobby Bare--I want to hear some funny stories
Dolly Parton--two good reasons--nuff said
Tom T. Hall-to hear some story songs
Ray Price-- just so I could dance once again
Willie Nelson--what's a show without Willie
Hank Thompson--that western swing

Well this is tough for me me as far as living artists are concerned but, here goes:

Loretta Lynn- My name says it all

Merle- Love the songs

George Jones- The chance to let him know how much my Dad loved him

Bobbie Bare- Drop kick me Jesus

Donna Fargo- Her quality touches my heart

Jeanne Pruitt-Satin Sheets

Charlie Pride-My dad and I always sang his songs

Charlie Daniels-Love his attitude

Deceased:

Conway-He will always have my heart. This time I would have the nerve to talk to him

Patsy Cline- Just to hear her live

Hank Williams-The first song I ever memorized I'm so lonesome I could cry

Waylon-I love the outlaw

Tammy Wynette-Her personality.

Jim Reeves-The nature of his songs

Lefty-Marty Hank and Lefty

Marty Robbins-So rich and pure.

When it comes down to it I love all of these performers and could not imagine anything better than having them all together on one stage.

1 Roy Drusky., with Priscilla Mitchell. On a Par with George/Tammy...Porter/Dolly

2 Jean Shepard:Pioneer of womens country

3 Lefty Frizzel. Sang with feeling

4 Don Gibson. Great songwriter and singer. Made some good crossover hits

5 Kendals. Great Harmony

6 Hank Snow. One of the first to attract my attention

7 Patsy. Possibly Queen of Country

8 Jim Reeves. Beautiful voice

Still Around

1Vernon Oxford. Great authentic country voice. Probably more popular here than US

2 Charley Pride. He sang Crystal Chandeliers.Wifes favourite song,so I have to add him

3 Bobby Bare. Just like his material

4 Statler Brothers. Best harmonising group I can think of

5 George Jones. You don't last as long as him without being something special

6 Loretta Lynn. If Patsy's the Queen of Country,Loretta's the Princess

8 Leroy VanDyke. Mainly for his crossover hit...Walk On By

Deceased-

Hank/Lefty/Webb Pierce -have to have a LOT of honky tonk

Jimmie Rodgers-because everyone owes a debt to the singing brakeman, and he had a great voice-I want to hear some yodeling!

Bill Monroe-love bluegrass, love his voice, love his mandolin playing

Bob Wills- we're going to need some western swing!!

Buck Owens/Don Rich-I want a chance to see them together-never did :(

Living:

Merle-of course! Great songs,great voice

Ray Price-he'll be singing an encore with Hank/Webb/Lefty (after all do their own sets of course) Ray Price Shuffle!!!

Dale Watson-don't know if many have heard of him-he's the real deal. Used to see him often when he lived in CA.

George Jones-The singer's singer.

Willie-he's done it on his terms from the beginning. One of the best writers past, present or future.

Del Mc Coury band-the best bluegrass band working today. One of the best voices in any style of country.

Dwight Yoakum-great singer/songwriter. He'll bring Pete Anderson-a great guitar player.

AND......

Garth Brooks!!! - he's the only artist I could think of whose fans might be mature/open minded enough to listen. He'd draw a crowd who would get a chance to hear some of the best country music ever played. It might rub off!!! We might start a whole revolution, leading to Keith, Toby, Tim, Shania, Faith, etc. being relegated to the top 40 stations where they belong.

P.S.-Damn, just realised I had no female artist listed! I'm gonna need at least four more slots Fool (we can have two stages) Kitty, Patsy, Tammy, Loretta.
