Hello there,
Ghost Riders is the most famous western guitar riff I can think of.
Yep, "Smoke On The Water" is pretty famous. I knew the riff before I knew the song or even Deep Purple. Others include the riffs in these songs: "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath "Black Dog" by Led Zeppelin "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones "Day Tripper" by the Beatles "Purple Haze" by The Jimi Hendrix Experience But I knew the riff from "Smoke On The Water" before I knew who any of these bands were.

There is no way anyone can tell you what you want too know without hearing it. Make it simple and just ask your dad what he's playing.

Why don't you ask your dad what song it is?!
