Music wise, it's the song Here Come's the Hurt Again. This might not be the answer you're looking for, but I was very interested in the battle he got into with Gilley's co-owner Sherwood Cryer about how the club declined in the 80's. Overpriced, in bad repair, rude staff. "A K mart sized operation at 7-eleven prices" Gilley called it.



One of the sad things is Gilley had the minority interest in the club. The majority, and control was in his partners hands. Even the logo was controlled by Cryer. Ol' Mick didn't even have the rights over the use of his own name.



By the time they straightened things out, the club was gone.

Gilleys in Pasadena Texas in the 70's & 80's was the biggest venue around. The movie Urban Cowboy was there, starring John Travolta & Debra Winger, the mechanical bull riding was a big thing and country line dancing was catching on. I remember Mickey singing "You Dont Know Me", my favorite song by him. Those were better days.
