As a country radio personality, I receive country music CD's from artists all over the world. In my book, It doesn't matter where you're from, if you have talent, and are true to country music.

Nashville is the place to start, but be careful of people who just want money, and don't care about you. Find a good producer who can help you.

Good luck! We hope to hear from you someday!

I'd say go for it. If you have a great voice. You have to have the voice and the want. I have a great voice for country music. Been singing it all my life and just grew up to it. But I guess I don't want it bad enough. I have a husband and an 11 year old son so I don't want to work the long hours and leave my son. Soooo... that's what I say. If your still young....go for it. But I would suggest moving there. You have to move there and if possible....if you don't have any contacts, then I would suggest you applying for a job in the radio business or any kind of music business whether it be secretary or anything. Then you can meet a lot of people and get to know them and they can send you to people that really matter in the business....good luck!!!

Well, Keith Urban's Australian, so why not :) And Nashville is the "hub" so to say of country music. I just moved to the Nashville area, and I'm having a hard time finding anything BUT country music on the radio lol....only 2 rock stations I've been able to find....I'm not a country fan.

sure, just sing about real life experiences and sing it in plain simlpe words.

if you have a good singing voice, you certainly have opportunities. If you are serious about it as a career, its going to take a LOT of hard work. Randy Travis was a dish man at a Nashville restaurant and Kathy Mattea was a tour guid in Nashville.

by all means go for it ! yes, you can try, who knows you might be the next Shania Twain who is Canadian, in other words you don't have to be an American to sing country music. good luck. everyone goes to Nashville when they think they are ready, though yu will probably have to earn your stripes by working your way to the top, like all singers by playing in night clubs, bars, weddings, dances, etc...
